Keep on going

In the following chapters of my book, “The Alchemist." Nicolas Flamel finally joins the twins and Scatchach. But he doesn’t come alone, he visited her friend and she recommended that he searched for an allied. Because it would help them a lot for protection, he tracked down another magician called Cond de saint Etienne. When he meets the twins and Scathach and he presents their new allied, Scathatch immediately objects strongly and doesn’t trust him. But Saint Etienne finally wins her trust when they are found by Niccolo Machiavelli one of the dark elders and he protected the twins while Scathach was knocked out with a hit. Every time they get attacked they luckily find a way to escape. But not for long because while they were exhausted after an attack Flamel was captured and taken to the Alcatraz prison in San Francisco.

“He didn’t know how far he had run, miles probably.”

In this quote we can see that it is very dangerous when they get attacked because they are not prepared or just don’t have the strength to stop them anymore. After taking lots and lots of attacks and running away and little rest, they are exhausted. When you are exhausted you can’t fight as well as you can when you rest. Sophie’s power is also affected by this because she is using pretty much all of her strength and she is only recovering half of her strength. Josh is also affected because he can’t fight as good as he normally does.

“The blade actually shivered in his hands.”

In here we can see that Josh is not only exhausted after a fight but he is also shivering from the fear of being attacked and the stress he has. In this part Sophie is also scared and tired every time more and more. Clearly there were signs that they just can’t hold up anymore, but why not run away and rest for a little. That sounds like a very simple thing to do for the reader. But the truth is that they are scrued because the dark elders have blocked all the possible exits. All the portals and all the transportations. That’s the thing that is keeping them trapped in paris.

Everyone is tired and feel very scared and insecure with what is going on: the attacks and all the ground they have lost. every time they get weaker and weaker and also more easily defeated. The real question is how long can they hold up to the pressure.
